Key Responsibilities Under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, the COTA will: Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist.

Provide skilled occupational therapy interventions to help residents improve functional abilities and independence. Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including dressing, grooming, bathing, toileting, and other functional tasks. Monitor resident progress and communicate changes to the Occupational Therapist and interdisciplinary team. Maintain accurate and timely treatment documentation, including daily notes and progress reports.

Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team regarding resident goals, progress, care planning, and discharge planning. Educate residents, families, and caregivers on therapeutic techniques, exercises, adaptive strategies, and safety. Assist with training restorative aides and provide support to nursing staff as appropriate. Establish positive relationships with residents and families while advocating for their rehabilitation goals.
