Job Description The Group Business Director (GBD) holds strategic commercial accountability for a cross-channel sales team delivering market leading outcomes across Nine’s Total Media ecosystem, encompassing Total TV (9, 9Now, Stan & HBO Max) & Total Publishing (Print & Digital Mastheads) and Powered.
Partnering with Group Business Managers and Strategy Managers, you will serve as a consultative media partner to our agency and client marketers. You will champion automated trading, data led audience targeting, and integrated content solutions to drive sustainable revenue growth and elevate Nine's market leadership. Day to day you will: Commercial Leadership & Revenue Growth : Drive sales strategies across a dedicated agency/client portfolio to consistently deliver and exceed revenue targets across all Nine assets.
Total Media Strategy: Architect unified, cross-platform media solutions leveraging Nine’s proprietary first party data, advanced programmatic trading capabilities and integrated content ecosystem. Relationship Management: Cultivate high level relationships across the agency/client portfolio, brand marketing leads, and internal Nine stakeholders acting as a trusted commercial advisor. Team Leadership & Development : Direct, mentor, and coach a cross functional sales team, fostering an inclusive, high performance culture focused on digital fluency, agility and continuous development.
Market Representation: Serve as a senior ambassador for the Nine brand across the agency/client territory, maintaining a highly visible, strategic, and trusted market presence. Operational Excellence : Partner with the Director of Sales Brisbane to deliver accurate revenue forecasting and identify emerging market opportunities. Qualifications What you'll bring: 10+ Years Media Experience: Proven track record in a senior media owner, publisher, agency or brand marketing leadership roles.
Omnichannel & Data Literacy: Strong operational understanding of Total TV, digital publishing, programmatic trading models, and first party data strategies. Commercial Acumen & Negotiation: Advanced deal structuring skills with a track record of driving complex high value commercial agreements. Modern Leadership Style: Demonstrated ability to coach, inspire, and lead multi-disciplinary teams through industry transformation and fast paced change.
Strategic Problem-Solving: Ability to unpack complex client business challenges and translate them into measurable, ROI focused campaign solutions.
