Join us as Head of Legal CoE, Masters & Derivatives, LG&RA You’ll lead the operational performance of the Centre of Expertise (CoE), making sure resources are deployed effectively and legal support remains aligned to business priorities Act as a senior escalation point for complex legal, structuring and risk matters, supporting effective outcomes in line with risk appetite Retain accountability for service quality, resource management, capability development and day to day execution of the Derivatives CoE Work at the heart of strategic Derivatives activity, providing leadership on some of the bank's most complex and commercially significant matters Help shape a more efficient, scalable and future-ready function through technology, automation and AI-enabled innovation Our team operates within a hybrid working model so you'll work from home some of the time, coming into the office at least two days per week to collaborate closely with your colleagues What you’ll do In this pivotal role, you’ll lead the Derivatives CoE, to deliver high-quality and scalable legal support.

You’ll provide consistent and commercially focused legal advice, helping manage legal risk while supporting strategic business objectives. You’ll drive Legal, Governance & Regulatory Affairs (LG&RA) transformation across the CoE by identifying and sponsoring opportunities to adopt legal technology, including AI, workflow automation and data analytics, to improve the quality, speed and scalability of legal services.

You’ll also foster high-performance standards with a focus on development opportunities, including digital and AI fluency, proactive succession planning and a commitment to building a progressive, future-ready CoE. You’ll be: Building strong relationships with senior stakeholders and the NatWest Markets General Counsel Driving continuous improvement across delivery models, productivity and cost efficiency Developing strong partnerships across NatWest Markets, supporting effective collaboration and service delivery Providing a senior operational interface to the NatWest Markets GC, ensuring delivery aligns with strategic objectives and risk appetite Setting and maintaining service quality, consistency and turnaround standards across all activities supported by the CoE Driving the implementation of the LG&RA technology strategy, proactively supporting initiatives to pilot and scale new tools and embed strong adoption across the CoE Fostering a culture of innovation and psychological safety across the CoE, encouraging colleagues to experiment, share lessons learnt and contribute to cross-functional transformation programmes Overseeing resource and capacity management, allocating legal expertise across teams in line with demand Sharing best practice across adjacent CoEs and promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement The skills you'll need Our bank is dedicated to delivering expert legal support that enables innovation, supports responsible growth and helps customers and markets operate with confidence.

You’ll bring significant experience in derivatives, trading documentation and market regulation, together with a strong understanding of capital markets and trading environments. You’ll also demonstrate: Proven experience leading specialist teams supporting fast-moving markets activity Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at senior business level A demonstrated ability to manage capacity, prioritisation and delivery at scale Experience leading process improvement, technology adaption or AI-enabled transformation initiatives Hours 35 Job Posting Closing Date: 25/09/2026 Ways of Working:Hybrid
