Join us as a Legal Capability Lead Make an impact across the legal function by leading complex legal matters across multiple capability pods, using legal expertise across a broad range of areas, AI fluency, commercial awareness and legal engineering to deliver scalable and efficient legal support Gain exposure to high-impact work by leading deal execution across multiple legal disciplines, acting as the escalation point for specialist issues Drive legal innovation by identifying, prioritising, and refining AI-enabled use cases, partnering with legal engineers and frontline delivery teams Our team operates within a hybrid working model so you'll work from home some of the time, coming into the office at least two days per week to collaborate closely with your colleagues What you'll do As a Legal Capability Lead, you’ll apply broad legal expertise and adaptability, supplemented by strong AI fluency, operating confidently across multiple legal disciplines, franchises and capability pods.
You’ll also lead complex matters, support deal execution, lead and upskill others and act as the escalation point for specialist legal issues, while providing quality assurance across the Centre of Excellence (CoE) and overseeing and directing work through a flexible lawyer pool. Moreover, you’ll identify and prioritise AI use cases based on value and complexity, acting as a key contact for central legal engineers.
You’ll use your broad legal expertise and commercial awareness to design and improve legal workflows, automation, and knowledge assets to create scalable and customer-focussed delivery solutions. In addition, you’ll be: Delivering quality assurance and consistency of legal outputs across the CoE Directing a flexible pool of lawyers in testing and continuously improving AI-enabled workflows, using frontline delivery insights to enhance automation, knowledge assets, and future ways of working Owning the design and refinement of workflows, playbooks, precedents, and other knowledge assets, combining legal expertise, process improvement, and technology Leveraging tools such as Persuit, Legora, and ServiceNow, to streamline legal process, drive efficiency, optimise resource and external spend, and reduce reliance on external support Developing, maintaining, and supporting the AI enablement of domain-specific knowledge assets, including precedents, playbooks, guidance, clause libraries, and prompt libraries The skills you'll need We're looking for someone with broad legal expertise across multiple legal disciplines, with the judgement and adaptability to lead complex matters and support the execution of complex matters and transactions.
You must also have strong AI fluency and practical experience applying AI to legal delivery, including use-case identification, testing, and continuous improvement, alongside industry-level knowledge of the legal and regulatory environment and the issues within which your CoE operates. In addition, you’ll need: To be a qualified lawyer or barrister Strong leadership skills and the ability to influence and guide others, coaching and mentoring colleagues across the function A commercial and delivery focus, including the effective management of internal resource, external legal spend, and cross-functional relationships The ability to establish and maintain strong relationships, collaborating across functions and supporting multiple franchises Proven expertise in legal process design, workflow simplification, and automation using platforms such as Persuit, Legora, and ServiceNow, or equivalent tools Experience creating and maintaining legal knowledge assets, including precedents, playbooks, guidance, clause libraries, and prompt libraries Experience of project or programme management, ideally with training or qualifications Hours 35 Job Posting Closing Date: 25/09/2026 Ways of Working:Hybrid
