Join us as Legal Team Head, Structured Transactions, Trade and Supply Chain Make an impact by leading a Legal team to deliver legal strategy and champion innovation, technology adoption, and continuous transformation within Legal, Governance & Regulatory Affairs (LG&RA) Drive strategic business outcomes by working with stakeholders to ensure efficient, data-informed, and digitally enabled delivery of legal advice, projects, and initiatives Influence legal services by managing and coordinating internal and external legal support, fostering a culture of experimentation, knowledge sharing, and forward-looking service design Our team operates within a hybrid working model so you'll work from home some of the time, coming into the office at least two days per week to collaborate closely with your colleagues What you'll do As Legal Team Head of Structured Transactions, Trade and Supply Chain, you’ll support bespoke, structured, or asset-backed transactions, including real estate finance, structured asset finance, and corporate/loan market transactions, alongside trade finance and supply-chain finance transactions.
You’ll deliver expert and cost-effective legal advice, either directly or through others, ensuring it’s clear to non-lawyers, delivered within relevant timescales, commercially focused, proactive, and aligned with minimising legal risks. To do this, you’ll leverage AI-assisted tools, automation, and self-service solutions where appropriate. You’ll also ensure the efficient communication of internal and external legal advice and provide timely, effective input on transactions and projects to stakeholders.
Moreover, you’ll drive LG&RA transformation by identifying and sponsoring opportunities to adopt legal technology, including AI, workflow automation, and data analytics, to improve the quality, speed, and scalability of legal services. You’ll also foster high-performance standards with a focus on development opportunities, including digital and AI fluency, proactive succession planning, and a commitment to building a progressive, future-ready team.
In addition, you’ll be: Leading and managing the team, external advisers, and other stakeholders to successfully deliver transactions, projects, and LG&RA change initiatives in a timely manner Driving the implementation of the LG&RA technology strategy, proactively supporting initiatives to pilot and scale new tools and embed strong adoption across the team Managing legal costs through the function’s spend management and e-billing platforms, using team data to optimise external counsel spend, and promote disciplined cost management Ensuring all new joiners working with the team receive appropriate induction, training, and management support Promoting and embedding knowledge management practices, ensuring legal know-how, precedents, and playbooks are developed, curated, and accessible across the function Fostering a culture of innovation and psychological safety, encouraging team members to experiment, share lessons learned, and contribute to cross-functional transformation programmes The skills you'll need We're looking for someone with relevant expert knowledge of the law, regulation, and legal practice, along with an in-depth understanding of the commercial environment in which the business operates.
You should have the ability to identify and address strategic, legal, reputational, and technology-related risks, while staying up to date with and sharing, legal, market, and legal technology or AI developments. To succeed in this role, you must also bring strong leadership skills, with experience of organising, motivating and developing professional teams, navigating change, and building high-performing, digitally fluent teams.
