As Manager, DEIB Programs and Engagement, you will help bring diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB) to life across our organization.
You will provide functional leadership for a national portfolio that includes Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), Local DEIB Circles, governance councils, and various internal and external engagement and partnership initiatives. You will translate NAV CANADA’s National DEIB Strategy into coordinated programs, effective governance practices, meaningful employee experiences and measurable outcomes. The role contributes to organization-wide consistency, credibility, effectiveness, and reputation of NAV CANADA’s DEIB governance and engagement programs.
Job Description What NAV CANADA offers you: Challenging, team-oriented work environment Competitive compensation and benefits Defined benefit pension plan Opportunities for growth and development Flexible work arrangements Diverse and inclusive workforce In this role you will: Lead national DEIB programs and employee communities Provide functional leadership for NAV CANADA’s national portfolio of Employee Resource Groups and Local DEIB Circles, strengthening consistency, participation and program maturity.
Translate DEIB priorities into coordinated plans, programs and governance practices while advising employee group leaders on effective delivery. Oversee the development of employee-led groups through onboarding, tools, training and continuous improvement. Enable effective governance and executive decision-making Manage the operations of the National DEIB Advisory Council and support the CEO Executive DEIB Council.
Build partnerships and external engagement Oversee DEIB sponsorships, partnerships and external engagement activities, assessing opportunities for strategic alignment, impact and value. Build and maintain relationships with industry partners, external organizations and equity-deserving community groups. Manage program operations and resources Coordinate priorities, schedules, events and deliverables across employee groups, governance councils, partnerships and engagement activities.
Oversee program systems, documentation, budgets and resource allocation while managing relevant vendors, contracts and procurement activities. What you bring: A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Social Sciences or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. At least five years of relevant experience in program management, human resources, organizational development, communications or a related discipline.
Experience leading complex programs, initiatives or portfolios involving multiple stakeholders. Experience working with stakeholder groups, committees, advisory bodies or governance structures. Experience leading partnerships, events, industry engagement or community outreach activities. Experience analyzing information, preparing reports and developing practical, solution-oriented recommendations.
Experience working independently and coordinating priorities in a matrixed environment Applied knowledge of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging principles and related culture-building practices. Knowledge of program and project management principles. Understanding of stakeholder engagement and governance models, including committees
