The VES/Operational Excellence Intern will support continuous improvement activities at Ott/In-Situ. Working with the VES Leader and Operations teams, the intern will document processes, collect and analyze operational data, conduct time studies, and support Lean, 5S, kaizen, and daily management initiatives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Observe and document operational and material-flow processes.
Conduct time studies and collect process data. Assist with process mapping and workflow documentation. Analyze inventory, replenishment, cycle count, and material-shortage data. Identify waste and potential improvement opportunities. Support 5S assessments, audit checklists, and visual standards. Prepare reports and presentations summarizing findings. Provide regular progress updates to the VES Leader.
Minimum Qualifications Currently pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Manufacturing, Business Analytics, or a related field. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Detail-oriented with an interest in Lean and continuous improvement. Ability to work on-site in manufacturing and warehouse areas.
Preferred Qualifications Exposure to Lean, 5S, process mapping, or continuous improvement concepts. Experience collecting, organizing, or analyzing data. Internship Outcomes The intern will gain practical experience in process documentation, time studies, data analysis, 5S, material flow, and continuous improvement. The intern will also identify measurable opportunities to improve inventory, quality, productivity, or operational processes.

This range may be modified in the future. An associate’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.
The compensation range for this role is $5,000 - $5,000 USD per year. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees. Note: No amount of pay is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned, vested, and determinable. The amount and availability of any bonus, commission, benefits, or any other form of compensation and benefits that are allocable to a particular employee remains in the Company's sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified at the Company’s sole discretion, consistent with the law.
