Principal Product Designer (UX)

The focus of this team is on the experience of the end user who starts out as a prospect and has an interest in purchasing a subscription. The journey continues through possible offers, and then to the purchase journey. The Commerce Product Design Team also cares for the UX of the user who wants to upgrade, downgrade, or wants to cancel their subscription. This role will mentor, conceive, define, design, develop, test, and launch vivid and compelling experiences that are contextually relevant, exceedingly useful, and will drive results.

This role will specifically focus on aiding customers with managing their account, consumer checkout journeys and initial account creation. This role reports to the Senior Director of Product Design for Commerce. You will lead the product design experience for customers who discover, purchase, manage, upgrade, downgrade or cancel a subscription through device partners such as Samsung TV, Roku, Apple TV and mobile or tablet platforms.

You will shape compelling, useful experiences across the full partner commerce journey, working closely with design, product and engineering leaders. You will also help ensure AI-enabled commerce features feel seamless, natural and consistent across platforms. What you’ll do • Lead end-to-end user experience design for high-value, consumer-focused digital commerce products across web, mobile and connected-device platforms.

• Turn requirements into clear user flows, reusing established patterns where appropriate and creating new journeys where needed, including edge cases and cross-device detail. • Set the creative direction, lead ideation and workshops, and guide concepts through evaluation, execution, experimentation and launch. • Use research, usability testing and experiments to learn, iterate and improve the customer experience.

• Partner with Product Management, Engineering, Content Design and other teams to define product strategy and successfully deliver experiences to market. • Lead, mentor and grow designers, establish strong design practices, communicate progress to leadership and remove blockers for the team. Essential Criteria:  • Extensive experience in UX or product design, with seasoned design leadership and strong operational knowledge across the end-to-end design process.

• Experience designing commerce journeys such as account management, subscription purchase, authorisation, transactions, upgrades, downgrades or cancellation. • A strong online portfolio showing shipped, in-market products and a clear end-to-end design approach. • Advanced proficiency with Figma and experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, Sketch or other collaboration and prototyping tools. • Strong research and analysis skills, using data and customer insight to inform decisions.

• Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder partnership skills, including the ability to influence senior product, business and executive leaders. Desirable Criteria: • A degree in design, computer science, human factors design or a related field. • Experience using AI-assisted tools such as Claude Code, Augment or ChatGPT. • Experience designing across web, mobile and other application platforms.
