What Supply Chain Planning contributes to Cardinal Health Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning.
Supply Chain Planning is responsible for ensuing the right quantity of products arrive in the right place, at the right time and cost. This job family is accountable for the design and execution of demand planning, supply planning, deployment planning, inventory planning, collaborative planning, expediting, purchasing and the design and implementation of the supply chain network. Supply Chain Planning utilized supplier contracts and manufacturing parameters to exceed customer service level commitments while optimizing supply chain costs and inventory.

Job Summary The Supply Chain Planning Advisor is responsible for ensuring accurate Net Requirements flow to manufacturing sites and external manufacturers, enabling production to meet the correct product mix and quantities while supporting material procurement for Service & Repair activities.
This role ensures sufficient finished goods and spare parts supply across the network to prevent shortages in both the short term Sales and Operations Execution (S&OE) and long term Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP). Responsibilities include reviewing plant capacity, collaborating with deployment teams, maintaining appropriate safety stock levels, and identifying inventory reduction opportunities.
The role utilizes Kinaxis, SAP, and BPCS planning and deployment systems. The Supply Chain Planning Advisor partners closely with cross-functional teams, including global sourcing, global trade, demand planning, commercial, logistics, and operations, to achieve or exceed customer service metrics such as service levels and backorder targets. Responsibilities Develop and maintain supply plans based on RMA trends, commercial strategy, and other business inputs.
Monitor finished goods and spare parts availability to meet service requirements and minimize supply disruptions. Analyze service level and backorder performance, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. Recommend and implement supply planning and inventory management improvements to enhance service, efficiency, and financial performance. Drive the reduction of excess and obsolete inventory risk and lead Last Time Buy planning activities for the Service & Repair portfolio.
Proactively identify, communicate, and mitigate supply and service risks with key stakeholders. Lead and support strategic supply planning initiatives, including process improvements and system integrations. Host regular meetings with manufacturing plants and external manufacturers to address supply challenges and ensure service level objectives are met. Conduct monthly Supply Reviews as part of the S&OP process to align supply plans with business requirements.
Partner with manufacturing, demand planning, marketing, operations, sourcing, and other cross-functional teams to support business objectives and drive supply chain performance. Qualifications 3 years of experience, preferred Bachelor's degree in related field such as Supply Chain, or equivalent work experience, preferred APICS, CPIM, or CSCP preferred SAP or Kinaxis experience preferred Proficient in Microsoft Office applications Excellent communication and interpersonal skills What is expected of you and others at this level Applies comprehensive knowledge and a thorough understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to perf
