Employment Type: Full time Shift: Day Shift Description: Purpose The Surgical Technician ( un certified or un licensed) serves as a member of the surgical team, responds to patient needs, prepares / maintains resources (e.g., equipment, instruments, supplies) & provides safe, quality health care services & / or assistance for surgical procedure s in accordance with level of experience, education , policies / procedures / protocols & standards.

Functional Role (not inclusive of titles or advancement career progression) Tech / S upport II – assistive : Unl icensed or un certified role (direct healthcare) that s upports the total peri-operative process; Provides intra-operative patient care to patients a s directed b y the Director of Nursing / Medical Director / Quality Committee(s) ; Anticipates surgeon’s needs in the use of medical supplies, instrumentation & equipment availability & readiness; Maintains a safe & clean operating room suite ; As sists & / or ensures documentation & detailed records are kept ; P erforms essential duties & techniques appropriate to role / function / procedure ; Participates in quality improvement processes ; May serve as a resource (lead), role model & / or mentor.
Minimum Qualifications H igh S chool diploma or GED; At least o ne (1) year experience in a health care or military medical setting; Meets requirements for applicable state(s) of engagement. Additional Qualifications (nice to have) Current certification as a Surgical Technician from an accredited program Physical & Mental Requirements & Working Conditions (General Summary) Direct Healthcare Services / Indirect Healthcare / Support Services: Exposure to conditions which may be considered unpleasant to sight, touch, sound & / or smell .
Occasional Exposure to fumes, o dors , dusts , mists & gases, biohazards / hazards (mechanical, electrical, burns, chemicals, radiation, sharp objects, etc.) . Occasional Exposure to or subject to noise, infectious waste, diseases & conditions . O ccasional Exposure to interruptions, shifting priorities & stressful situations .
