Job Posting Title: UNB Building Monitor ---- Hiring Department: University Unions ---- Position Open To: All Applicants ---- Weekly Scheduled Hours: 10 ---- FLSA Status: To Be Determined at Offer ---- Earliest Start Date: Ongoing ---- Position Duration: Limited Duration Based on Business Need ---- Location: UT MAIN CAMPUS ---- Job Details: Purpose UNB Building Monitors support the safety, security, and daily operations of the Texas Union by ensuring University Unions policies and procedures are followed and assisting staff in providing services to students, faculty, and guests in a professional and friendly manner.

This position helps ensure patrons have a positive experience while adhering to Texas Union Guest Policies. Responsibilities Interact with guests and coworkers in a professional and respectable manner. Conduct regular checks of all building floors and guests to ensure safety, security, and adherence to policies. Ask for UT IDs when necessary and report suspicious activity. Ensure building equipment in the Texas Union is operating correctly through software and manual inspections, and submit work orders to address problems.

Open and close the Texas Union Building. Assist Hospitality Desk workers with their routines and support Housekeeping and A/V staff as needed for events and day-to-day operations. Contribute to a written shift report. Provide access to different spaces in the building for University Unions team members. Maintain accurate guest counts for events occurring in the Texas Union and floor counts during closing shifts.

Escort nightly deposits. Adjust building temperatures as needed. Respond quickly to emergencies and assist patrons or first responders as needed. Complete administrative tasks as required. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: Must be a current student at The University of Texas at Austin and meet the University's student employment eligibility requirements, including enrollment in at least six (6) semester credit hours, unless otherwise eligible under University policy.

Effective time management skills Possess a strong work ethic Preferred Qualifications Responsive and clear communication skills with regard to speaking, emails, phone calls, and text messages. Prior employment/experience in a supervisory or managerial position. Demonstrated ability to manage time and multiple tasks efficiently while providing quality results.

Approachable and friendly personality, ability to work well with others as a team, and solve problems on their own.
