MasterMold is looking for a driven, hands-on leader to join our Mauston Paint Department as a 2nd Shift Paint Supervisor. For this position, leadership matters. Previous manufacturing or paint experience is valuable, but it isn't everything. We are also interested in candidates who demonstrate strong leadership ability, initiative, accountability, and a genuine willingness to learn. You don't need to walk in knowing every aspect of our paint operation on day one.

We can teach processes and systems. We are looking for someone who naturally engages with their team, recognizes when something needs attention, takes ownership, and follows through. This is not a desk-only leadership position. You will be actively involved on the production floor, leading employees, managing production priorities, supporting quality and safety expectations, addressing concerns, and helping your team succeed.

If you see a problem and your instinct is to get involved and help solve it, we want to talk to you. What You’ll Do As a Paint Supervisor, you will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership and execution of 2nd shift Paint operations. Your responsibilities will include: Lead, coach, and develop Paint Leads and production employees. Execute daily production schedules and communicate priorities to the team.

Assign employees and resources based on production needs. Monitor production throughout the shift and adjust priorities as conditions change. Ensure employees understand their assignments, expectations, and production goals. Maintain consistent communication with Paint leadership regarding production status, staffing, quality concerns, downtime, and other significant issues. Ensure products meet customer specifications and MasterMold quality standards.

Monitor Paint operations, including surface preparation, masking, paint application, robotic operations, finesse and touch-up, rework, assembly, and final inspection. Identify production, equipment, process, or quality concerns and take appropriate action. Work with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, Human Resources, and other departments to resolve issues affecting production. Support troubleshooting of paint processes, robotic equipment, and other production concerns.

Coach, train, and develop employees and frontline leaders. Provide clear expectations and hold employees accountable for performance and workplace conduct. Address employee performance or behavior concerns promptly and partner with Human Resources when additional coaching or corrective action is appropriate. Ensure employee issues, coaching discussions, and other required documentation are completed accurately and in a timely manner.

Support training and development of new and existing employees. Maintain strong safety, 6S, and housekeeping practices throughout the department. Ensure employees properly use required personal protective equipment. Identify and communicate safety concerns and support timely corrective action. Support continuous-improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, waste reduction, and cost.

Assist with developing and maintaining standardized work instructions and best practices. Support process development, equipment trials, and new product launches. Promote strong communication between shifts and departments to maintain operational continuity. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. What We’re Looking For We are looking for someone who: Has the drive and initiative to take ownership of their shift.

Is comfortable leading people and providing clear direction. Notices problems and is willing to engage rather than waiting for someone else to address them. Can respectfully hold employees accountable. Is willing to learn manufacturing and paint processes. Can make decisions and adjust priorities in a fast-paced production environment. Communicates effectively with employees, leadership, and other departments.

Can coach employees and navigate difficult conversations professionally. Understands that being a supervisor means supporting the team while also enforcing expectations. Is organized and follows through on commitments. Can remain professional and solution-focused when challenges arise. Has a continuous-improvement mindset. Is willing to spend the majority of the shift actively engaged on the production floor.

Previous supervisory, manufacturing, production, or industrial paint experience is preferred, but we are willing to consider candidates who demonstrate strong leadership potential, initiative, accountability, and the drive to learn. What You’ll Need High school diploma or equivalent. Previous leadership, manufacturing, production, or related experience preferred. Ability to lead employees and communicate expectations effectively.

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Ability to read and follow work instructions, procedures, and production documentation. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and production tracking systems. Ability to work collaboratively with Production, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Safety, and Human Resources.

Bilingual English/Spanish skills are preferred. Experience with industrial painting, wet spray, powder coating, robotic paint systems, or similar manufacturing processes is a plus, but it is not the only way to demonstrate that you can succeed in this position. Leadership Expectations A successful Paint Supervisor does more than assign work. We are looking for someone who is present on the floor, understands what is happening during the shift, communicates with employees, asks questions, addresses problems, and follows through.

You should know your production priorities, understand where your people are assigned, recognize when something isn't going according to plan, and take action. You will also be expected to develop your employees and Leads—not simply direct them. That means providing feedback, recognizing good performance, addressing concerns when they occur, and helping employees understand what is expected of them.

Schedule This position is assigned to 2nd shift at our Mauston facility: Monday through Thursday 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM Because this position directly supports production operations, additional flexibility may occasionally be required based on staffing, training, production demands, projects, or other business needs. Physical Requirements This is a hands-on manufacturing leadership position. The role requires the ability to: Stand and walk for extended periods.

Work throughout an active manufacturing environment. Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Work around noise, dust, heat, paint processes, fumes, and moving equipment. Wear required personal protective equipment throughout the shift. What Success Looks Like Success in this position means taking ownership of your shift. We don't expect you to know everything on day one. We do expect you to learn. You should become someone your employees can go to for direction and someone leadership can rely on to understand what is happening on the floor.

When something goes wrong, we want you asking questions, involving the right people, and helping move the issue toward a solution. The technical side of manufacturing can be learned. What we're looking for is someone who brings the leadership, initiative, accountability, and drive to learn it. Why MasterMold? Working for a smaller manufacturing company gives you the opportunity to see more, learn more, and have a visible impact.

You'll work directly with Production, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Safety, Human Resources, and leadership. You'll have the opportunity to understand how the entire operation works—not just one small piece of it. If you have the drive to grow as a leader, we want to give you the opportunity to do it. Ready to Lead? If you're someone who sees a problem and gets involved, enjoys working with people, isn't afraid to make decisions, and wants an opportunity to grow as a manufacturing leader, we'd like to hear from you.

You don't have to know everything on day one. Bring the leadership, ownership, and drive. We'll help you build the rest.
