Electric System and Grid Planning Engineering Senior I/II

Primary Purpose Performs complex analyses and develops recommendations that enhance grid reliability and optimize system performance under varying conditions. Duties and Responsibilities Identifies and addresses thermal overloads on distribution circuits and substations using load projections and develops project scopes to mitigate peak-time issues. Performs voltage and reliability studies using specialized software to recommend corrective actions for existing and proposed circuits.

Monitors and improves system reliability by identifying underperforming assets and implementing targeted solutions. Ensures regulatory compliance with local, state, and federal standards in all grid planning and construction activities. Prepares detailed technical reports summarizing study methodologies, findings, and actionable recommendations. Stays informed on energy market trends and adjusts planning strategies to align with evolving industry conditions.

Collaborates with stakeholders to gather input and ensure coordinated planning efforts. Performs other duties as assigned. Frequent, independent driving to meetings, company locations, field locations and/or active incidents sites while maintaining a focus on safety and compliance with traffic laws is essential to this position and cannot reasonably be accomplished via alternative transportation.
