As an intern at PennEngineering , you’ll gain hands-on experience, learn from experts, and collaborate with teams that do truly amazing things. Join us as we build the future in Engineering! Over the course of our 10–12-week summer internship experience you will have the opportunity to: Work directly with a mentor in your field of study while finding solutions to real world problems Experience our products up close by working in our manufacturing and research facilities Interact directly with our company leaders to discuss strategy and the future of PennEngineering Build a lasting professional network through social events and engaging activities Gain the skills and knowledge to become a future leader S upport engineering projects in manufacturing, operations, or technology development.
WHAT YOU WILL DO Experience and learn the fundamentals of LEAN manufacturing Enhance working knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD via design of fixturing, tools, ergonomics assists, etc. Utilize Microsoft Office suite of software to create process flow diagrams and presentations P erform time stud ies and apply the data to justify systematic change Enhance interpersonal communication skills by working directly with operations and leadership staff Us e quantitative and qualitative data to provide specific recommendations to plant leadership on how to reduce waste and improve efficiency of existing manufacturing processes.
Assist Continuous Improvement team with plantwide LEAN and 5-S initiatives such as audits and standardized work creation.
