We are currently seeking a Plasma Melter at our Bakers facility in Monroe, NC. As a Melter, you are an integral part of a successful team responsible for manufacturing titanium electrodes primarily used in the aerospace industry.
During the melting process, you will set up and operate our Plasma Melt Furnace while working in a controlled environment and rotating to the production floor every few hours to do general maintenance activities. During furnace turnaround, you will spend 2 days rebuilding components, cleaning and preparing melting hearths, and performing normal operating maintenance. To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate critical thinking skills, problem-solving skills, dependability, analytical thinking, troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, adaptability, and flexibility in a changing environment.
Additional Responsibilities: Perform all required duties to set up and operate vacuum, positive pressure plasma arc furnace, and start cycle gas system Perform all operating and safety checks Continuously monitoring controls and gauges during operation Maintain accurate, complete, and legible logs, records, and charts Operate heavy machinery such as forklifts and cranes Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition
