Advanced Research Scientist

The advanced research scientist will investigate molecular and signaling mechanisms of vascular remodeling with hypertension, as well as development of aneurysms. The studies he or she will perform include experiments with cell culture models and animal models of cardiovascular diseases. Specifically, he or she will study if angiotensin II-dependent hypertension and aneurysms can be prevented in mice with Pyruvate Kinase Type M2 gene manipulations.

He or she will also study the cellular mechanism in cultured vascular smooth muscle cells. The job also includes planning experiments, analyzing the results, writing abstracts for conferences, presenting the findings, and drafting manuscripts under supervision of the PI. Makes significant contributions as co-author of research papers, data and technical reports, and presentations to sponsoring agencies.
