Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist Position Summary: Responsible for performing all aspects of patient exam activities at a technical level that will produce high-quality images consistent with established policies and procedures, typically requiring general supervision. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Specializes in performing computed tomography diagnostic studies. Obtains patient history, explains standard procedures, and addresses patient concerns to foster a sense of comfort and confidence, ensuring individual patient needs are met.
Operates and maintains all assigned CT scanning equipment to ensure optimal functionality. Positions patients, selects appropriate imaging protocols, and conducts scanning procedures to accurately capture images as requested by a physician. Completes quality assurance processes and practices radiation safety to reduce exposure for patients, staff, and self. Complies with all relevant regulatory laws, standards, and protocols including those set by The Joint Commission.
Maintains accurate documentation, logs, charts, forms, and records in both paper and electronic formats. Ensures adequate supply of all necessary consumables for quality imaging testing. Performs routine daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic maintenance and function checks on all imaging equipment following established protocols. May assist other areas of radiology as assigned. Performs other related duties as required and directed.
Qualifications: 2+ years of CT experience - required. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment - required. Travel experience - preferred. Current ARRT certification and BLS certification through AHA required.
