Amazon Sortation Center Associate

About the Role Amazon is looking for Sortation Center Associates to join its evening and weekend operations in the Southwest. Sortation centers play a key role in Amazon's last-mile delivery network by sorting packages by zip code and route for delivery station dispatch. This full-time, onsite position offers flexible evening and weekend shifts and is a great entry point into Amazon's growing logistics operation.

Key Responsibilities Unload inbound trailers arriving from Amazon fulfillment centers, placing packages onto conveyor induction systems Monitor automated conveyor sorters and resolve jams or misaligned packages quickly to maintain flow rates Manually sort packages into designated chutes or cages based on delivery route codes shown on shipping labels Load sorted packages into outbound delivery vehicle compartments or staged cage units for dispatch Conduct end-of-shift trailer and cage counts to verify package totals match system manifests Follow all Amazon safety protocols including power-off procedures for conveyor equipment and proper manual handling techniques Required Skills Physical ability to stand for an entire shift, lift packages up to 49 lbs, and work on an active conveyor floor Comfort in a loud, fast-paced industrial environment with conveyor systems running throughout the shift Ability to read and interpret shipping labels and sort codes quickly and accurately Reliable availability for evening and/or weekend shifts Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in a logistics, transportation, or warehouse sortation role Familiarity with package handling equipment or conveyor systems Benefits Hourly rate: $17.50 to $23.00 per hour with evening and weekend differentials Medical, dental, and vision coverage from day one Paid time off and Amazon-observed holiday pay Life insurance and disability coverage included in full-time benefits package Free Amazon Prime membership for all full-time associates Access to Amazon's Career Choice tuition assistance programme Work Environment Amazon Sortation Centers are active, high-volume facilities with automated conveyor systems, climate management, and structured safety protocols.
