Apparel Sportswear Company located in Irvine, California is seeking an APPAREL PRODUCT LINE MANAGER. This key position will be responsible to work as the manager of the product line. This team produces styles each season for various athletic categories. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Research and write seasonal briefs in a clear and understandable format applicable to design, development, marketing and sales.
• Anticipate and identify customer’s needs by analyzing retail sell-thru information on product performance including price points, styles, colors, materials, tooling and POP. • Determine and help develop in season, key account SMUs, as necessary to meet seasonal sales goals. • Present product concepts, prototypes and samples along with essential market size, market share and price point information at seasonal design and development meetings.
• Understand market and retailer trends and have specific knowledge of competitor’s product, pricing, styling, treatments and tooling. • Coordinate with marketing the development and production of all support materials, including packaging, hang tags, POP and catalogs to support brand positioning. • Participate in seasonal presentations to selected retailers to ensure an active understanding of market and product trends.
• Develop, with sales management, the sales forecast by season for each product category. • Monitor booking trends to determine in-season product opportunities and problems. Participate in regular reviews of inventory levels, booking trends and production planning with purchasing and manufacturing departments. • Prepare presentations for sales meetings and trade shows with the objective of providing sales force with the knowledge and materials necessary to achieve the seasonal sales goals.
• Provide consistent product updates to sales force (new styles, best received, styles produced, etc.).
