Assistant Kitchen Manager

Carolyn's Krisps makes vegan, gluten-free cookie-crackers, and we're growing. We're looking for a hands-on Assistant Kitchen Manager to help lead our production kitchen. You'll work side by side with our Kitchen Manager to keep production running smoothly, keep our gluten-free and allergen standards high, and help our small but mighty team do its best work. This is a full-time, hourly role with overtime eligibility, paid time off, and paid holidays.

What you'll do Lead and run production shifts alongside the Kitchen Manager, and step in as lead when they're out Train and support kitchen assistants on recipes, packaging, and food safety Plan ingredient prep and production schedules to meet order volume Manage inventory: tracking, ordering, receiving, and rotating ingredients and packaging Uphold food safety, sanitation, and gluten-free / allergen cross-contact controls Oversee packaging, labeling, shipping, and order fulfillment Check quality and consistency on every batch Keep the kitchen and equipment clean, organized, and running efficiently Who you are A natural leader who still loves being hands-on in the kitchen Calm and organized in a fast-paced production environment Detail-oriented, especially about food safety and quality A clear communicator who makes the people around them better Excited about plant-based, gluten-free food (a big plus) Qualifications 2+ years of experience in a bakery, commercial kitchen, or food manufacturing setting 1+ year in a lead, supervisor, or shift-lead role ServSafe Food Protection Manager certification, or willingness to obtain it within 30 days Experience with inventory management and production scheduling Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for a full shift Schedule Full-time, Mon-Fri Pay & benefits $20–$25/hour, depending on experience Overtime pay eligible for hours over 40 Paid time off (PTO) Paid holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Day) Annual bonus program eligible after a year A small, supportive team where your ideas matter
