Key Responsibilities Prepare and bake a variety of bread, cakes, pastries, and other baked products according to established recipes and quality standards Portion and shape dough, monitor baking times and temperatures, and remove finished goods from ovens Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bakery station, equipment, and storage areas in line with food safety protocols Follow portion sizes, ingredient measurements, and preparation methods to ensure consistency across all products Coordinate production schedules with team members to meet daily sales forecasts and customer orders Monitor inventory levels of baking supplies and report shortages to management Identify and troubleshoot product quality issues and implement corrective actions Requirements & Qualifications Certificate, diploma, or recognised training qualification in baking, pastry production, or food production Minimum 1 year of practical experience working in a bakery or commercial food production environment Demonstrated knowledge of baking techniques including dough fermentation, shaping, proofing, and baking procedures Understanding of food safety standards, hygiene regulations, and safe handling practices in a kitchen setting Ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately and maintain focus in a pressured working environment Strong attention to detail when measuring ingredients, decorating products, and presenting finished goods Effective communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with bakery staff and other departments What to Expect You will work in a commercial bakery department within Sayen Supermarket, handling equipment such as mixers, ovens, and proofing chambers The role involves early morning shifts to ensure fresh products are ready for store opening; you should be prepared for standing for extended periods and working in a warm environment You will receive clear instructions on recipes, portion sizes, and quality expectations, with opportunities to apply your baking skills in a structured setting This Bakers at Sayen Supermarket position in Nairobi is open to qualified candidates.
