Biederman's is expanding! We're thrilled to announce our newest location in the heart of Rittenhouse Square at 276 S 20th Street on the corner of 20th and Spruce Streets, and we're looking for a passionate, skilled Lead Baker to help us bring the same quality and craft our community loves to this iconic Philly neighborhood. About the Role Setting the standard for quality, consistency, and creativity.

You'll work closely with our team to produce a full lineup of breads, pastries, and baked goods to complement the appetizers and prepared foods we make. Think bialy, babka, knishes, rugelach, and more! This role also may include other savory cooking depending on needs throughout the day. What You'll Do • Lead daily baking operations from prep through service • Develop and execute recipes for breads, pastries, and seasonal specials • Maintain quality and consistency across all baked goods • Train, mentor, and schedule junior bakers and kitchen staff • Manage ingredient inventory, ordering, and waste reduction • Uphold food safety and sanitation standards • Collaborate with leadership on menu development and new offerings What We're Looking For • 3+ years of professional baking experience, with at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory role • Strong knowledge of bread, laminated doughs, and pastry techniques • Early morning availability (6 AM starts) • A team-first attitude and a high standard for craft • Experience with volume production in a fast-paced bakery or café environment • Food Safety Manager certification required What We Offer • Competitive hourly wage, commensurate with experience which starts at $22-28 • Staff discounts • A chance to shape the culture of a brand-new location from the ground up To Apply Send your resume and a brief note about your baking background to [email protected] or apply here.
