Purpose Support customer service at point of sale while ensuring a world-class shopping experience. Record customer transactions on the Dis-Chem operating system according to company policies and standard operating procedures, with zero tolerance toward inaccuracies and elimination of fraud risk. Essential Requirements Grade 12 / Matric Minimum 6 months cashier/till operations experience Computer literate – MS Office Sound numerical skills Strong command of English Basic customer service Willing and able to work retail hours Key Responsibilities Adhere to customer service policies and procedures Establish professional relationships with customers Report customer complaints and compliments to management Maintain customer turnover hourly rate Stay aware of current sales and promotions Ensure safety of colleagues and customers Carry out Dis-Chem 5-star communication principles Manage cash flow, ensure line voids and price changes are approved Process exchanges, returns, and all payment types Process loyalty cards (Discovery, Medihelp, Momentum, etc.) Secure cash according to SOPs Protect login credentials Ensure all outgoing stock is scanned and paid for Handle daily takings confidentially Report suspicious behaviour Address merchandise queries Adhere to security policies Competencies In-depth knowledge of cash registers and cash drawer maintenance Knowledge of processing sales, refunds, and payments Strong English communication (written and oral) Accuracy, attention to detail, presentable Emotional intelligence, social awareness, accountability Problem-solving, basic report analysis Trustworthy, honest, time management Advantageous Third additional language Special Conditions Willing and able to work retail hours Reliable transport or reside near store South African citizen Clear credit and criminal records Remuneration Market-related salary.
