Casual Cashier (Fixed Term)

Role Purpose Support customer service at the point of sale while ensuring a world-class shopping experience. Record customer transactions accurately according to company policies and standard operating procedures to eliminate fraud risk. Essential Requirements Grade 12 / Matric Minimum 6 months cashier/till operations experience Computer literate (MS Office) Sound numerical skills and strong English command Basic customer service skills Willingness to work retail hours Key Responsibilities Adhere to customer service policies and professional relationship standards Process all payments (cash, cards, vouchers, coupons) and loyalty cards Manage cash flow and ensure funds are placed in drop safes per SOPs Handle merchandise exchanges and returns when authorized Maintain security by protecting personal login credentials and reporting suspicious behavior Ensure all outgoing stock is scanned and paid for Competencies In-depth knowledge of cash registers and drawer maintenance Accuracy and high attention to detail Emotional intelligence and social awareness Accountability, honesty, and trustworthiness Problem-solving and time management Special Conditions Must be a South African citizen Clear credit and criminal records Reliable transport or residing near the store
