E.S. Originals is looking for a Director of Footwear Development in to be based in either New York City, NY. or Long Beach, Calif. This position requires 10 years of footwear experience, and excitement about and knowledge of basketball sport, and products Experience: 10 Years in performance footwear, plus 5 years in performance basketball Position Summary: The ideal candidate will have full understanding of footwear development/commercialization/production process Provide the vision of the brand and give the best support.
Responsibility of this position - 1. Work with Create footwear calendar works for design / marketing / production 2. Lead Product and Development Team in creation of Footwear Styles 3. Work with designers for new concept innovation and provide technical support/solution 4. Liaison between design / marketing and factories to ensure communication flows 5. Work with Asian suppliers for new material and build relationship 6.
Make sure each products meet the performance standard of basketball sport 7. Establish R&D budget every year, and ensure budget is practical and help brand building 8. Negotiate with factories for the best cost options to maximum profit and meet the performance requirement 9. Work with distributors / customers for their SMU request, specific products or marketing need 10. Ensure implementation/continuous improvement of formal processes to support product development activities.
Requirement of this position 1. B/S degree plus 10 years performance footwear experience, plus 5 years in performance in basketball category, with at least 5 in a management role. 2. Have great relationship with suppliers and factories or great negotiation skill 3. Experience leading products from concept to market experience working with manufacturing. 4. Have the great leadership to continue improving the team 5.
Understand mechanical drawing of tooling and familiar with the construction / limitation 6. Knowledge of Prop 65/CPSIA/REACH requirements is a plus. 7. Must know how to use Illustrator CS 5, photoshop and word/excel. 8. Overseas and Chinese speaking are plus 9. Dedicated to all things basketball, ambitious working attitude 10. 4 - 5 times travel to Asia per year and 3 - 4 times domestic travel is requested Remarks 1.
