Job Description Sugar Factory is seeking an experienced, passionate, and results-driven General Manager to lead our Downtown Detroit location. We are looking for a strong hospitality leader who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment and is committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in restaurant operations, team leadership, financial management, and driving overall business performance.
This individual will oversee daily operations, maintain high service standards, and foster a positive, energetic work environment. Key Responsibilities Oversee all daily restaurant operations, ensuring exceptional service, efficiency, and guest satisfaction. Recruit, train, develop, and lead front-of-house and back-of-house management teams. Manage restaurant financial performance, including budgets, labor costs, food costs, inventory, and profitability.
Maintain high standards for food quality, presentation, cleanliness, and overall guest experience. Develop and implement strategies to increase revenue, improve operational efficiency, and achieve business goals. Monitor guest feedback and resolve concerns professionally and efficiently. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, sanitation, and company policies. Oversee staffing, scheduling, payroll, and employee performance.
Collaborate with ownership and leadership to execute promotions, special events, and restaurant initiatives. Build a culture of accountability, teamwork, and hospitality excellence. Qualifications & Requirements Minimum 3–5 years of General Manager experience in a full-service, high-volume restaurant or hospitality environment. Proven ability to lead large teams and manage multiple departments.
Strong understanding of restaurant financials, P&L management, labor costs, and inventory control. Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Experience managing high-volume dining, private events, and high-energy restaurant environments preferred. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and perform under pressure. Proficiency with restaurant POS systems, scheduling platforms, and operational reporting.
