In-House Counsel (Japan) | $140–150/hr | Remote (Japan) Mercor is partnering with a leading legal AI company to evaluate how well AI systems respond to real Japanese law questions. We are seeking experienced in-house counsel to serve as expert reviewers, comparing AI-generated legal responses and scoring them against a standardized rubric. What You'll Do Run identical prompts across two AI (LLM) platforms and compare outputs side by side Score each AI response against a standardized evaluation rubric provided by the client Submit concise, well-reasoned written feedback for every evaluation completed Requirements 5+ years of experience as in-house legal counsel practicing in Japan Strong command of Japanese law, with particular expertise in commercial and contract matters Sharp attention to detail and precise written communication skills Ability to work independently, adhering to rubric guidelines and deadlines Logistics Initial commitment: approximately 10 hours, with strong potential for ongoing work Confidentiality: all work is covered under a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) Compensation: USD $140–$150 per hour
