Title: Business AnalystLocation: Calgary, AB (4x onsite per week)Duration: 6 month contract, extension possiblePay range: $59-$65 per hourVacancy Status: This posting is for a currently vacant role, and the successful candidate will be hired into an existing open positionJOB DESCRIPTIONInsight Global is looking for a Business Analyst for a 6-month contract with a high possibility of extensions. A successful candidate is expected to go into the office 4 days a week and will support a large-scale infrastructure and technology optimization program, leading requirements gathering, business process analysis, and solution definition across IT and operational technology environments.
This role serves as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, Operations, and IT teams, ensuring business needs are translated into clear, actionable requirements that support successful project delivery. The successful candidate will work closely with Project Managers, Architects, Business Partners, vendors, and operational stakeholders throughout the demand-to-delivery lifecycle, supporting governance, testing, change management, and solution adoption.
Candidates should be located in Canada and have experience supporting large-scale IT, infrastructure, or industrial technology projects.REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE8+ years of Business Analysis experience3+ years of experience supporting large-scale or complex IT/technology projectsStrong experience gathering, analyzing, and documenting business, functional, and non-functional requirementsDemonstrated experience with process modeling, requirements traceability, and acceptance testingProven ability to translate business and operational requirements into technical solutionsStrong stakeholder management and communication skills with both business and technical audiencesExperience with requirements management and collaboration tools such as Azure DevOps, JIRA, SharePoint, and Microsoft 365Experience supporting multi-stakeholder projects from requirements through implementationStrong analytical and problem-solving skills in complex and ambiguous environmentsNICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCECBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, or other Business Analysis certificationExperience in energy, utilities, pipeline, industrial, or operational technology (OT) environmentsExperience with IT/OT systems, infrastructure, telecommunications, or SCADA solutionsKnowledge of cybersecurity, physical security, end-user technology, SaaS, and data management initiativesExperience supporting capital projects or major project portfoliosProficiency with Visio, BPMN, Miro, Power BI, Copilot, and PowerPointExperience defining data requirements, data quality rules, and reporting solutionsFamiliarity with stage-gate governance frameworks and structured project delivery methodologiesExperience supporting change management, training development, and operational handover activitiesExposure to data architecture, data stewardship, and enterprise reporting programsArtificial intelligence tools are used to assist with in screening and assessing applicants for this position.
