Kitchen Porter

Tigre, a distinctly downtown Manhattan cocktail bar and lounge on the Lower East Side, is seeking a Porter to join our team. We are looking for hardworking, dependable people who are comfortable in a fast-paced environment and take pride in keeping the venue clean, organized and well run throughout service. The Porter supports the entire team, from kitchen to bar to floor, and makes sure Tigre is ready for service at all times.

JOB TITLE: PORTER EMPLOYER: Downtown LLC (DBA Tigre) REPORTS TO: Executive Chef and General Manager DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Dish & Equipment: Wash, sanitize and put away all dishware, glassware, smallwares and kitchen equipment, keeping the dish station organized throughout service.

Kitchen Support: Help the culinary team with deliveries, stocking, basic prep and keeping the line clear during service. Deliveries & Storage: Receive, check and rotate product, and keep walk-ins, dry storage and bar storage clean, labeled and in order (first in, first out). Cleanliness: Keep floors, restrooms, back-of-house areas and common spaces clean before, during and after service. Trash & Recycling: Manage trash, recycling and compost removal according to building and city rules.

Opening & Closing: Complete the opening and closing checklists, including deep-cleaning tasks on the weekly schedule. Compliance & Safety: Follow all DOH sanitation, food safety and workplace safety standards, and report any maintenance or equipment problems right away. Professional Conduct: Tigre is a world-class luxury restaurant and bar with standards to match. The Porter is expected to work with care, discretion and pride, communicate clearly with management, and support teammates in every department.

REQUIREMENTS: At least 1 year of experience as a porter, dishwasher or in back-of-house support at a high-volume restaurant or bar Able to stand and walk for long shifts and lift up to 50 lbs Open availability strongly preferred, including evenings, late nights, weekends and holidays Dependable, punctual and detail-oriented Food Handler's Certificate preferred TENURE: Tigre is committed to providing a safe, inspiring and positive environment, with real opportunities for professional and personal growth.
