Manager: Software Engineer - CAPE TOWN - ONSITE Purpose: Supervises a software engineering team, overseeing people leadership, technical direction, and delivery execution to ensure high-quality software aligned with business objectives, sustainable delivery practices, and team capability growth. Key Responsibilities: Sets technical direction and standards, balancing quality, maintainability, and business timelines Leads coaching, mentorship, and performance management to build a high-performing team Manages delivery commitments, stakeholder communication, and dependency coordination Owns production stability for the team's services, including incident response Drives process improvement, tooling, and adoption of new technologies Manages technical risk, including technical debt, testing gaps, and security/performance issues Experience & Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent advanced diploma with management experience) 6–8 years of progressive software engineering experience, including 2–3 years in formal or informal team leadership Highly competitive package offered.
