You will have the opportunity to focus on our footwear category, while gaining exposure across multiple timelines and sourcing strategies, and you will actively contribute to improvements in our end-to-end materials development process.This role is based in our Portland office and is expected to be performed on-site.

Our success comes from our knowledge, standing true to the brand and building strong partnerships with suppliers.If you were the Materials Developer 2 for Footwear now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:POINTER-MARK Contributing to the creation of original and innovative material solutions through researching polymer, yarn and manufacturing processes and working with key suppliers to build industry-leading technical fabricsPOINTER-MARK Developing and applying creative ideas to support materials design in technical aspects of material development from advanced concept to go-to-market solutionsPOINTER-MARK Sourcing new material technologies and supporting intellectual property activities, including the provision of guidance and recommendations on patents for assigned area of responsibilityPOINTER-MARK Identifying key challenges in manufacturing and leveraging innovation opportunities for high performance, durable and technically feasible materials and evaluating the technical capabilities of suppliersPOINTER-MARK Representing the function in cross-functional meetings and ensuring decisions around materials developments are aligned with our long-term product and business prioritiesPOINTER-MARK Testing and evaluating materials using Arc'teryx custom and industry standard lab testing, including assisting with management of any materials-specific end use field testing programsPOINTER-MARK Ensuring the Product Line Management system, Centric, stays current and accurate with progress updates for your developmentsPOINTER-MARK Providing materials expertise and education to cross-functional teams and partners across the businessPOINTER-MARK Building and maintaining a thorough understanding of the inherent limitations and potential impacts relating to materials development projects Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future:POINTER-MARK Evaluating results of development initiatives to assess for performance and commercial/production feasibilityPOINTER-MARK Developing a thorough understanding of our business priorities in order to focus our developments to deliver against short and long-term needs, while contributing ideas beyond your specific categoryPOINTER-MARK Supporting in cross-functional stage-gate meetings and can represent the function with confidenceEqual OpportunityArc’teryx is committed to actively creating and fostering a culture of inclusivity where voices are heard, people are seen, and values are respected.
