Romy is a new restaurant opening in SoHo. We're looking for a dependable morning porter and receiver who will keep our kitchen clean, stocked and running smoothly so the prep team can focus on cooking. Schedule: Tuesday to Saturday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, the same five days every week. What you'll do Receive deliveries, check them against invoices (items, quantities and prices), and put stock away properly.
Wash containers and tools to support morning prep. Deep clean the kitchen and stoves 2–3 times a week. Vacuum the dining room (about 10 tables) and clean the 2 small bathrooms. Use the correct cleaning products for each surface and piece of equipment. Keep the space organized and treat it as your own. Please note: this is a porter and receiver position, not a full-time dishwashing role, though dishwashing is part of the job.
What we're looking for Porter or receiving experience in a New York City restaurant. The ability to read English invoices, product labels and cleaning product instructions. Good working English to communicate with the team. Reliability and punctuality for an 8:00 AM start. A positive attitude and pride in keeping a space clean. The ability to reliably commute to SoHo. A plus: interest in learning basic prep.
