Porter / Dishwasher — Full Time & Part Time Āzar Persian Street Grill · 740 Driggs Ave, Williamsburg, Brooklyn About Āzar Āzar is a new Persian street grill opening in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. We serve bold, honest food rooted in the flavors of Iran. Grilled meats and vegetables, fresh bread, herbs and spices. Every role in our team matters, and our porter/dishwasher is the backbone of a clean, welcoming space from the kitchen to the dining room.

Responsibilities Kitchen Wash and sanitize all dishes, glassware, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment efficiently and thoroughly Maintain a clean and organized dish station at all times Sweep and mop kitchen floors before, during, and after service Remove trash and recycling regularly throughout the shift Assist kitchen staff with basic prep tasks as needed Restock clean dishes, utensils, and supplies to the line as needed Receive and help store deliveries when needed Dining Room & Service Area Continuously circulate the dining room during service to collect dirty dishes, trays, and utensils from service stations and tables Refresh and restock service stations throughout the shift Wipe down counters, surfaces, and seating areas regularly during service Sweep and mop dining room floors as needed during and after service Maintain a clean and welcoming front of house at all times Empty and reline trash bins throughout the space regularly Restrooms Check and clean restrooms regularly throughout every shift — not just at opening and closing Restock soap, paper towels, and toilet paper as needed Report any maintenance issues (broken fixtures, leaks, etc.) to management immediately Ensure restrooms are clean, stocked, and presentable at all times during operating hours General Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines at all times Work closely with both kitchen and front of house teams to keep the entire space running smoothly Punctuality is a must — on time every shift, every day Requirements Previous dishwashing, porter, or cleaning experience preferred but not required — we will train the right person Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive attitude Ability to stand for extended periods (8–12 hours) and lift up to 40 lbs Ability to work independently and take initiative without being asked Ability to work as part of a team and take direction well Weekend and evening availability required Must be able to work in a hot, wet, and loud environment Schedule Full-time and part-time shifts available Evening and weekend shifts required Holiday availability expected Compensation Competitive hourly rate
