The Department of Environmental Health Sciences at Tulane University invites applications for a Research Technician III to work on an Office of Naval Research (ONR) funded project: Environmental Risk Factors Associated with Marine Mammal Health. The applicant will work closely with Dr. Tiong Aw to develop environmental sampling and sequencing protocols for bacterial and fungal pathogens, including antimicrobial-resistant pathogens, using a novel, portable long-read sequencing method.
The applicant will also assist in day-to-day lab operations while working on an independent research project. The initial appointment will be made for a period of one year, with a possibility of extension for one additional year based on performance and availability of funding.
