Sales Trainer

Spy Optic, Inc. is an innovative, driven, designer, manufacturer and distributor of high quality eyewear products for the Action Sports and Lifestyles markets, with its corporate headquarters in Carlsbad, CA located in North San Diego County. Spy is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Sales Trainer. Job Description Conduct formal and informal training sessions on various techniques of how to sell Spy products, along with providing training on the features, benefits, and various components of Spy sunglasses and goggles, as well as training related to the differentiation between the specifications of our products and those of our competitors.

Candidate must have the ability to travel a minimum of 50-60% of their work hours in order to conduct training sessions with our Outside Sales Representatives in various regions of North America, and when not traveling they will be required to provide product training at our corporate headquarters to new employees, as well as refresher/continuing education to our Inside Sales and Customer Service Representatives.

Candidate must possess core knowledge of the optical industry, it is preferred that they have a minimum of 2 years within the optical industry, 3-5 years prior training experience, and some prior sales experience. Candidate will confer with Director of Product Development, Vice President of Marketing, and Vice President of Sales to obtain current and required information needed to formulate teaching outline and instructional methods.

Candidate should have prior experience in providing training in group, clinic and individual formats. Competencies - Exceptional verbal, written, public speaking and/or presentation skills - Working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook - Strong knowledge of PowerPoint - Detail oriented - Self motivated and independent - Ability to work with minimal supervision - Ability to prioritize daily, weekly and monthly workload and requirements - Willingness to travel, and ability to handle all related logistics.
