Senior Process Engineer Location: Guilford Contract Type: Permanent Key Responsibilities Lead process design work across conceptual, FEED and detailed design phases. Develop PFDs, P&IDs, control architectures, and system models. Support safe, efficient operation through process assessment and data analysis. Manage risk through HAZOP, HAZID, and wider safety studies. Ensure compliance with COMAH and regulatory requirements for natural gas and hydrogen.
Supervise engineers and external contractors to deliver projects on time, within quality standards and budget. Drive innovative solutions and plant improvements across the asset. Coach and train junior engineers across multiple disciplines. Requirements Chartered Engineer with member-level membership of a professional institution. At least 5 years in an engineering supervisory or management role, managing teams of engineers and external contractors.
Multi-disciplinary experience on conceptual, FEED and detailed design projects in the energy industry. Strong understanding of the engineering behind oil and gas operations. System design experience, including PFDs, P&IDs, control architectures, and system modelling. Excellent understanding of COMAH and safety requirements for natural gas and hydrogen installations. Risk management experience, including HAZOP and HAZID.
Proven track record of achieving deliverables and developing innovative solutions. Keen to build cross-discipline skills and train others. Degree in Chemical, Process, or equivalent Engineering preferred.
