Job Title: IT Support Specialist Job Type: (Remote) Job Summary: An IT Support Specialist provides technical assistance and support to an organization's employees or clients, ensuring the effective operation of computer systems, networks, and software applications. This role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, maintaining IT infrastructure, and providing guidance to users. Strong problem-solving skills, technical expertise, and excellent communication abilities are essential.
Key Responsibilities: Provide first-line technical support to end-users for hardware, software, and network issues. Troubleshoot and resolve computer, printer, and peripheral device problems. Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, software, and applications. Monitor and maintain network performance, connectivity, and security. Respond to IT support requests via phone, email, ticketing systems, or in person.
Document technical issues, solutions, and procedures for future reference. Assist in IT projects, upgrades, and system implementations. Provide guidance and training to users on technology best practices. Ensure compliance with IT policies, procedures, and security protocols. Skills and Qualifications: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Proficiency in Windows, macOS, and/or Linux operating systems.
Knowledge of networking, cybersecurity, and hardware troubleshooting. Familiarity with ticketing systems and IT support tools. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to prioritize tasks, work under pressure, and manage multiple issues simultaneously. Education and Experience: Associate or bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
Previous experience in IT support, helpdesk, or technical support roles preferred. Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, Cisco) are a plus.
