Enterprise Transformation Lead and CIO Advisory

A large public sector organization is preparing for a major Workday implementation covering the full Workday platform. Implementation is expected to begin in December and continue through 2028. The organization is seeking a senior transformation leader to serve as a trusted advisor to the CIO. This individual will lead implementation readiness, establish strong governance, coordinate stakeholders, and ensure that business, technology, data, and organizational priorities remain aligned.

Location: Washington DC (Onsite) Type: Fulltime / Contract Key Responsibilities Partner with the CIO on program strategy, governance, and executive decision making Lead organizational and operational readiness for the Workday implementation Coordinate across IT, HR, Finance, Procurement, business leadership, and external partners Establish decision rights, escalation processes, executive reporting, and accountability Monitor milestones, risks, dependencies, resources, budgets, and organizational impacts Serve as a senior liaison between leadership, internal teams, and the implementation partner Ensure implementation decisions support the organization's long term operating model and technology strategy Preferred Qualifications Significant experience leading large enterprise technology or business transformation programs Experience with ERP or cloud platform implementations, preferably Workday Strong background in program governance, organizational readiness, change management, and executive engagement Experience within government, public sector, or similarly complex organizations Ability to operate as a trusted advisor to a CIO and influence senior stakeholders Strong judgment, diplomacy, communication, and problem-solving skills
