Job Title: 1st Shift Industrial Painter Job Description This role focuses on industrial painting and powder coating of manufactured metal products using spray guns in a clean, climate-controlled production environment. You work on 1st shift from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, applying wet paint and powder coatings, preparing parts, and ensuring high-quality finishes through precise application and inspection.

Responsibilities Paint and powder coat surfaces of manufactured metal products using spray guns in a paint booth environment. Set up and operate an industrial washer to clean parts prior to painting or coating. Load parts onto conveyors and prepare workpieces through sanding, blasting, sandblasting, and other paint prep activities. Mix coatings and liquid paints to the desired color and correct ratios, and pour powder into hoppers for application.

Set and monitor baking oven temperatures to properly cure and bake paint and powder coatings according to specifications. Perform quality checks on coated parts, including measuring paint thickness with a mil thickness gauge to ensure proper coverage. Operate various painting and coating tools and equipment safely and efficiently. Carry out inspections, clean-up activities, and proper storage and disposal of coating products and related materials.

Work with minimal supervision to complete a full range of specialized coating projects from start to finish. Collaborate with team members to produce superior quality products and maintain high standards of workmanship. Exhibit pride in workmanship, take responsibility for completed work, and support continuous improvement in quality and processes. Lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long durations to meet production and project requirements.

Essential Skills At least 2 years of painting experience in an industrial or similar environment. Experience (3 years preferred) using spray guns to apply wet paint and powder coatings. Hands-on experience with industrial painting, powder coating, and paint booth operations. Proficiency in mixing paints and coatings to correct color and ratio specifications. Ability to perform sanding, blasting, sandblasting, and general paint preparation tasks.

Capability to set up and operate industrial washers for part cleaning. Skill in operating baking ovens and setting specified temperatures for proper curing of coatings. Ability to perform detailed quality checks, including measuring paint thickness with a mil thickness gauge. Competence in handling coating products, including inspection, clean-up, storage, and disposal. Capacity to work with minimal supervision while completing specialized coating projects.

Strong sense of pride in workmanship and responsibility for the quality of finished products. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods during the shift. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working in an industrial or precision metal fabrication environment. Familiarity with paint sprayers, powder coat systems, and related industrial painting equipment. Knowledge of coating processes for products used in HVAC, roofing, and window applications.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing superior quality finishes. Willingness to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a positive team environment. The standard schedule is 1st shift, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, following a 4-day, 10-hour shift structure, with overtime available before the shift. The environment supports focused, detail-oriented work on coated metal products while maintaining comfort and safety throughout the workday. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Canton, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr.
