Responsibilities As a Senior Software Developer, you will play a key role in the design, development, and evolution of Bentley's Civil Engineering software portfolio. Core Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and maintain software components for Bentley's Civil Engineering applications. Take ownership of features and functionality from design through delivery and ongoing support. Collaborate with globally distributed engineering teams to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions.

Participate in architecture and design discussions, helping drive technical decisions and best practices. Develop clean, maintainable, and extensible code using modern software engineering principles. Create and execute unit and integration tests to ensure product quality and reliability. Troubleshoot complex technical issues and perform root-cause analysis of software defects. Conduct code reviews and provide constructive, actionable feedback to peers.

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, performance, developer productivity, and engineering processes. Research, evaluate, and integrate emerging technologies and development practices where appropriate. Collaborate effectively through Microsoft Teams, meetings, technical discussions, and cross-functional project activities. Leadership & Mentorship Serve as a technical leader within the team, helping guide design and implementation decisions.

Mentor junior and intermediate engineers by sharing knowledge, best practices, and development expertise. Champion engineering excellence, software quality, and continuous learning across the organization. Support Agile development processes, including sprint planning, estimation, retrospectives, and technical refinement sessions. Required Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

8+ years of professional software development experience. Strong proficiency in  C++ and C# . Deep understanding of object-oriented design principles, software architecture, and design patterns. Experience designing and developing complex, production-quality software systems. Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with distributed teams.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly and successfully apply them in production environments. A proactive, results-oriented mindset with a passion for delivering high-quality software. Preferred Qualifications Experience developing desktop or engineering software applications. Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio, .NET Framework, and related Microsoft technologies.

Experience with JavaScript and/or TypeScript. Familiarity with cloud-connected applications and service-oriented architecture. Experience with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and modern DevOps practices. Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub C
