Staff Accountant

Why You’ll Love This Role Be a key player in a growing construction company Work cross-functionally with operations, project managers, and leadership See the direct impact of your work on real projects Opportunity to grow your career What You’ll Do Maintain accurate general ledger entries and job cost records Assist with month-end and year-end close activities Prepare account reconciliations and variance analysis Support financial reporting related to project costs and profitability Review job cost accuracy and partner with project managers on corrections Support job cost forecasting and cost-to-complete analysis Assist with AIA billing, progress billing, and retainage tracking Monitor contract values, change orders, and budget updates Support compliance with prevailing wage and contract requirements Provide financial data to support project and leadership decisions What You Bring Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 2+ years of accounting experience (construction industry a plus) CPA designation preferred Understanding of job costing and project-based accounting preferred Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Proficiency in accounting software + Excel What We Offer Medical and Dental Insurance (select employee-only premiums are 100% company paid) Life Insurance 401K w/Employer Match Paid Time Off (PTO) Paid Holidays Career Training and Development With competitive pay, family-forward benefits and a little fun mixed in, Rice Companies works to build a team that’s second to none.
