About the Position: This position is with the 15th Medical Group at JBPHH-Hickam, located on Hickam AFB in Hawaii. A cost of living allowance has been authorized for Hawaii at the rate of 8.64% (subject to change) Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. A recruitment incentive may be authorized. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Major duties: Complete preliminary dental examinations on new dental service patients.
Examine the teeth and surrounding tissues for evidences of plaque and periodontal disease and charts findings. Perform postoperative care and provides oral hygiene instruction. Explain to patients the causes of periodontal disease and tooth decay. Inspect the mouth and throat for evidence of disease such as oral cancer. Perform various advanced and specialized oral prophylactic and preventive dental hygiene procedures.
Education: Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
