About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the Strategic Systems Support Element HQ's Element, (SSSE) Alexandria, VA. Major duties: Manage payment distribution and review commercial vendor invoices to verify document accuracy, proper funds certification, and compliance with federal spending laws.
Assume pecuniary liability by certifying vouchers and payments to verify the receipt of goods, prevent contractual breaches, and authorize essential mission expenditures. Interpret financial management and. accounting policies and implements new procedures within the commercial vendor services branch as needed. Impart financial management and accounting advice and assistance to financial managers, contracting officer representatives and senior leaders as required.
Provide technical guidance and assists with the implementation of existing integrated financial management systems as well as the planning of emerging technologies. Control and monitor financial management systems interfaces and administrative user privileges. Provide technical guidance for current financial management systems and plans for new system requirements. Education: Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.
