About the Position: This position serves as a Health Technician (Surgical) at Womack Army Medical Center, Department of Surgery. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Major duties: Transport patients from hospital units to the operating room. Screen patients for completeness of preoperative documentation. Position the patient for the specific surgical procedure. Assemble surgical instruments and equipment based on the procedure and the surgeon’s preference.
Monitor safe handling and disposal of sharp and biohazardous materials. Provide surgical instruments such as sponges, sutures, and solutions as requested by surgical staff. Education: FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S.
