Major duties: Performs preventive maintenance inspections and repairs to buildings, facilities, and equipment using trade techniques, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and painting. Conducts inspections on structural components of buildings, electrical systems and equipment, plumbing systems, automatic sprinkler systems, and fixtures.
Prepares reports of inspections, corrected deficiencies, and required repairs. Operates heavy hand tools and power equipment to perform and complete tasks, such as mowing, digging ditches/trenches, grading and sloping, clearing small trees and bushes, etc. Loads, unloads, separates, stacks, and carries materials, supplies, and packages, weighing up to 40 pounds or more. Assists with repairs, testing, and adjustments on electrical power plants and substations as well as overhead and underground primary electrical distribution systems.
Contributes to the application of the organization’s Quality Program, identifies deficiencies, and makes recommendations for improvements in work processes.
