SAFETY AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST

You will serve as a SAFETY AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST in the ENVIRONMENTAL, SAFETY & HEALTH DEPT (CODE 106) of SOUTHEAST REG MAINTENANCE CTR SERMC. Major duties: You will design, develop, manage and/or implement multiple environmental, safety, and health programs. You will serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Program Manager (PM) of assigned safety and health programs. You will provide safety guidance to employees performing a wide range of duties to ensure command-wide compliance with occupational safety and health laws.

You will research and implement the latest changes/developments in safety and health laws. You will manage the health program to include Respiratory Protection, Fall Protection, Ergonomics, Fire Warden, Traffic Safety, Medical Surveillance and Energy Control. You will conduct unplanned event/mishap investigations and complete a detailed report. You will develop occupational safety and health reports and metrics used to report data.

You will ensure compliance with the Occupational, Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Act. Education: There is no education substitution for this GS-12 position.
